Physiology and Pharmacology is the international open-access publication of the Iranian Society of Physiology and Pharmacology. The journal is committed to the publication of peer-reviewed basic and clinical research and review articles in all aspects of physiology, pharmacology, and other related life science disciplines. This journal aims to contribute to providing a comprehensive understanding of the functions and mechanisms of actions of the cells and major systems of the human body, and of the effects and mode of action of chemicals, which modify the major systems of the body. All experiments described in Physiology and Pharmacology that involve the use of animal or human subjects must have been approved by the appropriate institutional review committee and conform to accepted ethical standards. The journal welcomes submissions from all over the world.
With effect from January 1, 2024 onwards, Physiology and Pharmacology charges a publication fee to cover article-processing costs. All the accepted manuscripts (for submissions starting 1st January 2024, and except for “Letters to the Editor”) are required to pay the publication fee (20,000,000 IR Rials / 390 USD). Payment is due within 30 days of the manuscript receiving editorial acceptance. Physiology and Pharmacology provides up to a 50% waiver on manuscripts where the first author (25%) and/or corresponding author (25%) is a member of the Iranian Society of Physiology and Pharmacology at the time of manuscript acceptance.
